Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about wide toe box shoes

Why do I need a wide toe box?
Regular shoes squeeze your toes together into a pointed shape — what podiatrists call the "inverted V." Over years, this unnatural position can cause bunions, hammertoes, Morton's neuroma, and general foot pain. A wide toe box lets your toes spread naturally — like walking barefoot — which improves balance, reduces pressure points, and simply feels better. Studies show foot problems affect over 75% of Americans over 50 — and footwear is the #1 modifiable factor.
How do I know what size to order?
Measure your foot length while standing (feet spread when you stand). Check our Size Guide for the full chart. If you're between sizes, always round UP. Measure both feet — one is usually slightly bigger. Still unsure? We offer free exchanges — just contact us and we'll help you get the right fit.
Will the insoles work with my custom orthotics?
Yes. Our shoes have extra depth and removable insoles SPECIFICALLY designed to accommodate custom orthotics. Simply take out the factory insole and put yours in. The wide toe box gives your orthotics plenty of room — no squeezing, no sliding. Many podiatrists recommend our shoes to patients who need orthotic-compatible footwear.
Are these shoes slip-resistant?
Yes. The rubber outsole has a multi-directional tread pattern tested for grip on wet tile, wood floors, and concrete. Great for work environments, kitchens, and everyday walking. However, these are not ANSI-rated safety shoes — if you need certified slip-resistant footwear for a specific workplace requirement, check with your employer.
Do you offer wide and extra wide sizes?
Yes. Most styles come in Standard (D), Wide (2E), and Extra Wide (4E). Check each product page for current availability. If you need wider than 4E, contact us — we're expanding our size range based on customer feedback, and we'd love to hear from you.
Can I wear these without socks?
Yes. The interior is seamless and soft — no rough seams, exposed stitching, or tags to cause blisters. The breathable mesh upper keeps your feet cool even when worn barefoot. Many customers with sensitive feet or conditions like neuropathy prefer them sockless.
How heavy are they?
Under 8 ounces per shoe. That's about the weight of a smartphone or a deck of cards. For comparison, most walking shoes weigh 10-14 ounces, and work shoes can weigh 16+ ounces. You'll barely notice you're wearing ours.
What's your return policy?
30 days, no questions asked. If the shoes don't fit or you simply don't like them, we'll take them back. Return shipping is free. Refunds are processed within 3-5 business days after we receive the return. Contact us at hello@soofasgo.com to start a return or exchange.
